What pet parents say
|
"Angie is the best. I appreciate her working with me and my dog. She really trained me instead of my dog and I am so much more comfortable having my dog interact with other dogs." |
"Angie is incredibly thoughtful in the way she teaches, tailoring each class to her students needs. She is a wonderful listener and goes above and beyond to make sure that the class is filled with positive experiences for the dogs." |
Why Choose a Certified Dog Trainer?
|
When my husband and I adopted our first dog, the dog trainer gave us a leather leash and a choker collar. "Training" involved using the collar and leash to coerce good behavior and punish unwanted behavior. Thankfully, dog training has come a long way in the last 20 years. Modern, science-based training techniques are force-free and capitalize on a dog's natural learning ability. (For more information on the scientific evidence, check out the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's position statement on Humane Training.) In other words, we focus on reinforcing desired behavior rather than punishing unwanted behavior. And the best part? It makes training fun!
