My goal is for you and your dog to thrive together.

When my husband and I adopted our first dog, the trainer gave us a leather leash and a choker collar. "Training" involved using the collar and leash to coerce good behavior and punish unwanted behavior. Instead of helping our dog, poor Molly became even more reactive. Thankfully, dog training has come a long way in the last twenty years.

I use modern, science-based training that is force-free and capitalizes on a dog's natural learning ability. In other words, I focus on reinforcing desired behavior rather than punishing unwanted behavior. And the best part? It makes training fun for you and your dog!

My Background:I graduated college with the intention of becoming a veterinarian, but soon realized that I wanted to work with animals in a different capacity. I learned the joys of training at the Pets Ahoy show in Sea World Orlando and transferred those skills to my job as a Feline Keeper at the Central Florida Zoo. After that, I moved to Colorado and became a Carnivore Keeper at the Denver Zoo.

When I left the zookeeping profession, I attended an ABMA conference with an amazing presentation on reducing food bowl aggression in dogs at the shelter. I became an intern at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley's Training and Behavior Center. Based on what I learned there, I became a professional dog trainer and never looked back! Since then, I have become a Certified Control Unleashed Instructor and teach CU exclusively.
